What is Ball Bear?
The Ball Bear is a smiling sphere larger than two stacked avatars, with glowing red eyes while it hunts. It has no arms or legs. Its basic attack is a forward roll for 40 damage on contact. Spin Launch winds up in place, then launches in a straight line and flings anyone in the path. It was added in the Star update. A shorter variants list instead said this bear burrows and throws balls. That shorter list conflicts with the dedicated encounter notes, which describe rolling, a doorway block, and shooting the head from inside a shop. Use the doorway method from the dedicated notes, and do not expect a burrow just because the short list said so. The Burrowing Bear is the variant with an underground erupt attack.

How do you use Ball Bear?
Run into a shop or bunker doorway. The sphere is wider than the frame and bumps the outside. Shoot the head with a pistol from behind the threshold. In the open, sidestep the straight roll. When it starts spinning, put a boulder, tree, or wall between you and the launch.
